Non-Metallic Gaskets

PTFE Gasket

Product description

PTFE [PolyTetraFluoroEthylene] materials are mostly suited for applications in which the gasket is in contact with chemicals. The trademark Teflon® is possible known widely, the inert characteristics of the material allows its use with most chemicals. When reinforced with fillers such as carbon or graphite to creep under high pressures and temperatures is even reduced.

Product types

  • Virgin PTFE gasket
The virgin PTFE gasket is cut from 100% PTFE sheet, it has excellent chemical and electrical resistance properties with a low coefficient of friction. Often used in food, water and pharmaceutical applications.
  • Expanded PTFE gasket
Virgin PTFE is expanded during manufacture, altering its structure to improve dielectric and recovery characteristics under low bolt load.
  • Filled PTFE gasket
Adding glass/carbon/graphite in the PTFE sintering process adds mechanical strength to the material and reducing creep under higher pressures.
  • PTFE tape
